The wrap i have seen was the mini on wheeler dealers , was carbon fiber look. Looked ok " different " but definately need it professionally fitted " Ed china from wheeler dealers had a bit of trouble with it , heating and strecthing it " . No idea on the longivity though and if it gets ripped/scratched how would you fix it. Actually i think wheeler dealers did a kombi van as well , it was a blue bubling water texture , quite trippy. Here's a scene from wheeler dealers putting it on the mini http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REpXz77bQjk |

I have the clear 3M across the front of my car to act as a car bra. It was developed to stop erosion of the helicopter blades in the desert sand during Iraq / middle east wars |

Yeah I use the 3m wrap on my motorcycle fairings. After going through the trouble of trying to find a panel beater to spray them I decided to wrap them instead. Really easy in my opinion, just use a heatgun and grab a friend. The heat makes the vinyl lose its memory, so you can restretch it until its right. Been on for a few months and held up reply well. Best thing is if I'm over the colour it only takes a few hours to change. |

Its how they do a lot of commercial delivery type trucks. Judging by the marks on some of the trucks that deliver stuff to work I would say its pretty tough... Cheers, Ian |

I have fitted it to our Commodore work ute. to make it look like the team brock commodre of Jason Brghts Its coming up to 10 years.. THe 3M stuff has held up, faded a bit, but considering its out 24-7 in 40deg C days, but hasn't cracked or peeled.. The regular stuff ( ie the logo) has cracked and showing its age... |
