Steel Cap set $450 Line bore $500? EDIT: Yeah look it may be worth something to someone but honestly, without the MK1 head, Mk1 EN40B crank and a host of other bits, we are talking a BOATLOAD of rare parts missing (proper tappet cover with the right breather for one).... |

Back in 1966 I made a new steel centre cap for my 1220 out of axle steel. It took ages but cost me nothing (I was a railways apprentice). I didn't line bore it- I set it up in my lathe with another cap, bored it to 001" undersized, then hand scraped it true. Not suggesting anybody would bother doing this now, just sayin'. ![]() |
