It is a rocker shaft set screw, it locates the rocker shaft to the pedestal with the lock-plate. Maybe the lock-plate is missing and it has unscrewed. The shaft has a locating hole so you need to ensure it hasn't moved because oil supply to the rockers could be cut off.

If there is no lockplate, put Loctite 262 or similar on the thread before fitting.
That's what the aftermarket rocker sets do (although they use an Unbrako grubscrew).
If you run without it in the rocker shaft can rotate, cutting off oil feed to ALL the rockers. :cry:

Where in the shaft does it go?
Had a Quick look and couldn't see any hole for it
