I have a cast inlet manifold which has been cut off the exhaust outlet and have found a small hole in the area which was cut. Can I mig weld up the hole or will I stuff up the manifold by blowing a bigger hole into it? Is areldite maybe an option? Car has been running OK but I am assuming will go better without th hole ![]() |

Have gas, can braze... ![]() I now use oxy + LPG, that saves me 1/2 the BOC exorbitant rental. |

I stuffed one up that I cut years ago and put a hacksaw slit in the wrong spot. I filled it with Selleys Knead it. It lasted for years. Devcon would do it too. Tim |

Yeah i used Devcon .. sets rock hard just make sure you kneed it into the hole to plug it ... Could be braze welded , not MIGED , Maybe ARCed if you had the right rods but even then its touch and go .. Beanie |

You can get it online, but I've never seen it in shops. Tim |

Thanks Guys. I have some Sellys kneed it so I might give that a try. I thought about solder but it may have too low a melting point as it is close to the exhaust. |

If the metal isn't too thin you could tap the hole and screw in a bolt or grub screw. |

Having cut lots of these manifolds over the years, if there's a hole there it'll be thin as tissue paper. Bring it over Michael if the glue doesn't work, and I can braze it properly, no problem. |
