Post subject:  Difference between 4 pole and 3 pole solenoids?

Hi,

I bought a 4 pole solenoid (Minispares item) and looking at the Estate now, it has a 3 pole (which I'm assuming to be knackered due to starting problems) solenoid. It'll be running a metro engine.

What's the difference? What's the extra pole for and can I just ignore it?

TIA,

Simon.

It means you have an extra terminal you can get a switched 12 volt out of when you turn it on.

So you have 4 outputs in all instead of 3.
