Planning to drop into Mini Spares at Potters Bar on Saturday morning of the 30th March - Trouble is I bought most of the stuff I need for the Mini ( note there is a difference between want and need  )

Do they have a showroom that you can browse to be inspired or is it all behind the counter like most car part places?

If I can make the budget stretch to it I would like a set of 10" Contessas or similar with Yamaha 008s fitted but this stop is at the start of the trip not the end - but then we are back in London on the last day before we fly home

I've been to Potters Bar and it's a counter with a small show room with a huge warehouse out the back.

You want to carry 4 wheels and tyres as carry on luggage? lol

I'd think you'd want small expensive stuff like gearbox parts etc or maybe a tacho or speedo or two?

EDIT: here is a pic I took at Potters bar!

I'd get them to post the stuff home - KPH speedo is not a bad idea.

Do Pommie auto box parts fit our auto box? If so what would be the "usual suspects' in an overhaul?

Oh yeah was going to say, it's a fair way out of the city. Like The Silverwater of London lol. So not exactly close. Hire car distance

First part of the trip we will have a hire car - 30th we are driving from London to a village near Cambridge to stay the night (where my G Grandfather was born and the first and 2/3 of the graves in the Church yard are relos) so Potters Bar not out of the way - last day after 10 days in Europe we will be relying on Public Transport for the 12 hours wait for the flight.

Last time I went to Potters Bar I took a train from Paddington to the closest station, then a local Mini Cab from there. Met a guy from Malaysia at Mini Spares who was doing the same thing so we shared a Mini Cab back to the railway station.

Well you would have to take into account the weight " luggage wise " and wether the Vat Tax is more than postage to Oz " as in if you ordered from here ".

Incidently my mum just arrived in the Uk today , my cousins in england paid for her trip as a birthday present for my mums sisters 80th birthday

Here's a video of my aunty opening her present " mum " they havent seen each other for many years.

If the mods dont want the video here if it adds to the server problems ?, they can remove

While in London area you MUST go to the British Motor Heritage Centre in Gaydon. Catch a train out there, long way from London but seriously worth it. I was lucky enough to be there during the Mini 50th celebrations. All of the Monte Carlo rally winning Minis were there. Standing next to 33EJB was like worshiping at an altar!
