Post subject:  diff carrier good and bad

howdy,
could some give me examples of both a good diff carrier and a bad one

mine behind the thrust washer looks a little bad ,,has a very small lip but it aint too bad

you can get by with a little bad,,, a small lip isn`t really what you want but if you don`t have a better one then have an ask around to see if you can find a better one, but if all else fails then use what you have

however, the later A+ diffs are a better bet these days as the thrust washers have a "tang" (yes a bitter taste :-) ) & that "Tang" locks them into place so they don`t spin & ruin the carrier

so you can use the A+ carrier & thrusts ,,, or,,, use an early diff carrier & grind the space for the Tangs into them & use the A+ thrusts with the early modified carrier

AS always Good advice

I would add if You are able to find one that has red oxide colour painted on it
You will find it to be in better condition than most of the others, They are rare however

These were the ones made by Borg Warner in Australia. used in Morris 1100 etc.
