With the police cooper s ramflo air filters 1.5 in did the ramflo Lynx badge on them have a particular colour, eg silver or red etc |

Pretty sure Ramflo badges were all silver back then. I bought one for my Fiat 124 Sport in 1971, and it was silver. |

Neither of the filters on my unmolested S have a Lynx badge. Don't know if that's because they came off during it's life, or were intentionally removed when the engine was built so as to not advertise an external company (many standard BMC parts like mufflers, filters and hoses were manufactured by third parties but didn't have that company's name on them). They have the BMC Hot Run Tested sticker on the rocker cover so presumably were tuned in the factory before fitting to the car, even if the motor was modified elsewhere (e.g. Lynx) with the ST valve springs, rally cam and head job. The filters on my other S that's been resprayed look to be later versions as they have a plastic cage inside the foam filter instead of a wire one. The Lynx badge is red on those. I've been searching for many years for photos of the interior and under bonnet of the SPO41 S but to no avail, unfortunately. I only have external photos. If you find the answer to your question I'd love to know. |

![]() This filter is on the car that we had on the front page of Issue 11 of The BMC Experience. The car has been completely restored, so it is not known if this is original or a later version, but the condition of it suggests that it is the original. The car it is on is a 1970 ex-Police Cooper S. Cheers, |

I think this is the other design they used mentioned earlier. ![]() |
