Post subject: | Cooper s block petrol pump plate |
Hi all, Just a quick question, on the back of my block where the petrol pump attaches on other blocks I have 1 stud coming out of the block...what is that for?! The holes into the block were obviously never machined so it's not necessary to put a blanking plate there is it! has me stumped! Cheers |

I have wondered about that too. Maybe where a non pcv vented engine might have secured a crankcase vent pipe? |

That would be my guess, isn't that where an 850's vent pipe clamp attaches? |

There were a few engine types with a swan necked vent going past that stud. I feel there must have been a production related reason it was still there as it persevered trough 2 block designs even though it was seemingly superfluous. |

According to the MK II parts catalogue (PUB1056M) it's called Stud - Vent Pipe Clip. |
