Post subject:  Brake assembly weight: 4-pot alloy

Does anyone here know the weight of the now fairly common alloy 4-pot brake setups?
If not the whole setup, just the weight of any individual parts will help me compare it with 8.4s, metros, etc.
Main parts of interest: the alloy caliper and the vented disc, I can work the rest out if need be.
Thanks.

I have a few different callipers here and some discs. If you can wait till the weekend I can weigh them.

Bugger.

Free tip for those wanting cheap, accurate scales - you can get digital ones on ebay that read upto 40kg in 20g increments for $10 or less.
Check the fishing section.

Ok I have weighed the following:

8.4 inch solid disc and drive flange with screws and studs 4154 grammes

8.4 inch vented version of above with metro drive flanges machined to suit mini 5284 g

7.5 inch solid disc and drive flange with screws and studs (cooper s) 3786 g

4-pot alloy minispares UK calliper to suit 7.5" cooper s with pads clips etc 2145 g

8.5 inch 4-pot metro turbo iron vented disc calliper with pads clips etc 3451 g

Pics to follow.

The metro turbo 4 pots are for vented but they would be a fraction lighter if the calliper half spacers were removed to suit solid discs.

The metro drive flanges have has the big castellations machined off the wheel mounting face but the large outside diameter has not been trimmed down.

I have a pair of cooper s 2-pot iron callipers for 7.5" solid discs but they are on a car so I can't weigh them.

Here are the pics:

The scales max out at 5kg so I had to split the metro vented disc from drive flange.
