I am slowly getting a set of standard twin 1.25's ready for fitment but have a couple of questions. 1. using a straight edge across the manifold faces there is a slight discrepancy at one end of aprox 0.5 mm. Is that ok? Will it be taken up by the gasket? 2. The carbie side has been opened out, is that standard or a modification. If modded does it matter that the spacers and heat sheild now create a lip as they don't match that wider opening. see pics Cheers ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Phil Don't know much about the effect of the lip on the cabie side, but I would grab a couple of sheets of wet n dry (one for each port) and dress them up on a flat surface. |

That is enough to blow an engine up from running lean. (Sucking Air) Throw it away and get a new one or you will suffer the consequences of a much dearer blown up engine. |

That is the standard for all factory twin1.25 in manifolds ........ Edit : Even the Mk2 and GT twin manifold with the square mounting pad has the same tapered holes |

I would spent 10mins to set up on the mill and clean them up flat and level. As for the manifold being 1.5" on the carb side, that was so they could homologate H4 carbs and the standard manifold for competition. Back in the 60s. That step will not affect flow. (it would if it was the other way around). |

They get that way due to overtightening of the manifold nuts. |
