Is there a reputable mechanic on the north side of Brisbane? I am after someone that knows how to get the best out of an SU carb. Matt is a bit too far away from me just for a tune up.

Cheers
Terry

What needs to be done? With a good ear and ability to read a manual you can do a pretty good job - probably some you tube video how toos as well

You are about an hour down the highway from my place if you want to bring it up for a play at the weekend. Mind you I'm not a mechanic but have fiddled a few SUs in my time

Edit: just read the original post again. I'd still reccomend Matt though.

I am on northside and just got Matt Read to rebuild and tune mine.

I'd reccomend him as the car runs near perfect now.

It wasnt that expensive an exercise and was worth every cent.

Thanks Tony. I will give him a call once I have the spare time to get it serviced.

Basically I have an intermittent idling issue and the car feels like it is running pretty rich, pops and farts a bit when you back off and often over runs after turning the key off. I would normally have a go myself but can't really afford to bugger it up and have the car off the road as it is my daily drive.
