That sounds pretty heavy. A complete vented disc drive setup should be about 25kg for the pair (no drive shafts). What are you weighing? |

For what it's worth, I recently got a disc brake kit from minispares uk, and it was 478ukp plus 156ukp to ship. Unsure of measured/quoted or actual weights, although this did have alloy calipers, not cast iron jobbies. Turned out at just about $1000. Matt |

Turned out at just about $1000. Matt Was that a 7.5"kit? or 8.4"? I'm hunting through as many places as I can find trying to get the best deal I can. Can I ask how comprehensive the kit was? |

It was this kit. I must have got it on special. http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... 0to%20shop It included just about eveything, but BYO steering arms, bolts and I think locating washers. And BYO brake hoses. I didn't need CV joints, but got them in the kit. As others on this forum have mentioned, the ball joint kits don't have enough shims, so order extras. Goodness knows why. Matt |

"...Only talking 5 kg diff - sheesh.." Try that on the man at the airline check in desk.... at around 50 Euro a KG javascript:emoticon('') I managed to get a refund (around $700!!!) from Qantas when I got home but many heated words were spoken..... Cheers, Ian PS Check your ticket carefully. These days a Qantas ticket is not a Qantas ticket (despite what the ticket actually says) unless there's a kangaroo on the tail.... And your baggage allowance is determined by who's name is on the aeroplane.... and it can change if you use different brands for different legs of a UK/Oz flight.... |
