Hi fellow mini enthusiasts

I have a 1160 , wade 446b cam shaft, double row timing chain, 12g295 head
double valve springs, lightened balanced fly wheel and back plate , twin 1 1/4 su .

any suggestions on what type of manifold and muffler should i run??

centre exit muffler is what im after. are the dtm twin muffler box any good performance wise ?

Maniflow LCB would be my choice. Then 1-3/4" OD pipe to an RC40 or similar.
Biggest probs with centre exits are they often reduce ground clearance, also the car tends to suck fumes in through the boot and side windows when under way.
Bear in mind the rear seat back is not sealed to the body on the sides.

Had a center exit, got rid of it after a couple of months... Hung too low and smelly as DrMini says

Haha rofl Doc , how come there is a difference wether it comes out to the middle or left/right hand side Fumes wise ? ,

I was dallying with the thought to have twin pipes coming out just behind each wheel " old school style " but not sure what it would look like and also now fumes may also be a problem , i am going to hit pickles with a heap of silastic to fill holes gaps etc in the interior .

And thanks for the pic Michael . Do you notice any fumes coming into Wizard ?

When a mini (which has the aerodynamic efficiency of a brick) is running at speed, the air that is disturbed creates a vortex behind the car. With all the windows wound up and car sealed up tight, there's no issue. With windows down (particularly rear windows) and with an unsealed rear firewall, boot door, it sucks in the fumes.

I am sure Michael's sorted this all out.

Another reason for Not running centre exhaust is so Lillee would look more like a sleeper

My wasaMatic has a 2" side exit. So to the fuzz and others, it still looks like a MiniMatic, = of no consequence.

Sealed is fine, but what about on hot days when all the windows need to be down? *cough cough*?

Yeap, pretty much where stock exhaust should be, out the side and away from the vortex at the back of the car.

Bigger issue especially on lowered cars are those massive mount everest speed humps. With the exhaust out the back, in the center between the two rear wheels, you hit everything... Unless it's a very well set up one like Michaels. Mine is just a big dirty Lukey style muffler, sparks a plenty
