Post subject: | Lower Arm Pins |
have lower arm pins changed in design from aussie ones to UK ones ? or perhaps early to late design ? i just ordered one of these -http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Suspension/Front/Dry/2A4362.aspx?190201&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/lower arm.aspx|Back to search for my moke.. and it doesnt fit my aussie subframe ? (the end will pass through the subframe) am i missing a plate for the inside end ? im under the impresion that it should fit against the subframe tight ? any help would be much appreciated Nick |

Pins are all the same, I'd say your frame might have been modified. Can you post a pic of the subframe where it fits? |

there are 2 pins, early & late one had a flange , or shoulder-plate (for want of a better description) & the other had no flange either work fine & are totally interchangeable |

Having now found the correct hole when inserted the pin doesn't have much meat on the end, only just enough to get the but on and that's without a spring washer, will this get better as I tighten the nut? |

The pin changes from 3/8" thread to 1/2" shank. The hole is 1/4" deep, when the shoulder bottoms out there should be enough thread poking through the other side for a nyloc nut or a spring washer and normal nut. If there's not enough thread, just use a normal nut with loctite. |

ok they are now fitted.. only just just comes flush with the end of the nut, and thats with it done up to to a point where i wouldnt want to do it tighter for fear of bending the subframe |
