Post subject: | installing horn on rover mini |
Just purchased a cheap AAH-OOH-GAH horn for my mini. Came with zero instructions on how to install it also. Says its for 12V 3A power so hope this will work. Has a red and black pos and neg cable and one nut and bolt. So first question. Where do I wire it to and were do I mount it? Has anyone installed one of these ebay horns? Will prob try on weekend but would like some advise before. cheers, btw its for 98 rover cooper |

Take the existing horn out, cut the plug off the end and crimp on new suitable insulated spade terminals. I think purple wire is positive. Mount the horn anywhere you can - your engine bay is pretty full. ![]() |

Plenty of room in a 97 - I've got twin magnums in there. ![]() |

Or if you want to do it properly use the existing horn wires to trigger a Relay. Feed the relay a decent 12 volt supply (Fused) and take the horn power from the relay it will work better and will not melt your horn switch. |
