hi all im rebuilding my motor with my next door neighbor hes a old school motor mechanic. anyway we are upto the stage where we are torquing up the flywheel cover and end of the crank he seems to think that he knows it by his own arm is this possible ? and should i trust him on this? now my question is 1. what are the torque settings for the 3 bolt holding he cover , flywheel and clutch plate? 2. torque setting end crank nut cheers for looking |

1. 16 ft / lbs 2. 110 - 115 ft / lbs is what the factory recommend, however I'd suggest 150 ft / lbs. |

I use 75-80 on the crank pulley and 130 on the flywheel centre bolt, Loctite 262 on both, and NO cheesy aftermarket lock tabs... [edit] I do the diaphragm to backplate bolts to 18 lb/ft. I Loctite these too. |

The big bolt is F'nT and the little ones ....not that tight ![]() |
