because they are more chuckaboutable than anything else.
Mind you, that yank tank park in Blues Bros 2000 was pretty good too!

Now can they do it in reverse to get out of the parking spot without moving the other cars? That would be an exceptional manoeuvre.

nah, front wheel drive and lots of hp, you hold the handbrake on and smoke up the front wheels - it does work, but makes the owner of the car in front a bit nervous
