MED & SWift tune do a alloy internal
With billet steel out gear duplex timing chain kit.

Do You think that would be any advantage at all? Or pointless.

Considering we all have a nice lightened flywheel set up? Would it
Work for the timing timing side. except the harmonic balancer! I know the lovely rubber helps our cranks.

I know the swift gti"s go to a alloy under pulley
& dyno results on a engine dyno before & after found a increase of
5 to 7hp and a quicker spin up.

Would the A series be the same?
Thoughts?

I use a belt on both my 1360 and 1412. because one motor had it on, and the other kit I bought cheap.
Bear in mind the cam pulley is small diameter and only runs at 1/2 engine speed. So lightening it has less effect on inertia than doing a flywheel.
More HP? The racers can advise you better, I'd be surprised if there's more than 2HP in favour of the belt. And the BD kits ARE expensive. Also you will need to change the belt @ somewhere between 20K and 40K miles. PITA on a road car.

NG isn't talking about a belt doc, he is talking about chain sprockets.

Such as this http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catalo ... ier-duplex

As far as pointless? Lighter is better as long as it is still reliable but it is probably a bit overkill for a road engine. The adjustable sprocket has it's own merits for cam timing purposes as well.

My bad, I didn't have my specs on. I must be getting old...

Looks nice kit, I would buy it with the Jwis (german endless) chain, much of the other duplex sold is rubbish now. It is worth the extra £15.
