Hey All, I was trying to track down new aluminium door kick plates that go on the corners of the door pockets. I've seen them advertised for 850's but can't seem to find new ones for mini k's and deluxes. Mine, which I assume to be original have taken a fair beating over the life of the car. They appear to be anodised, and after some panel beating and polishing don't have the luster and shine as before. Are there reproduction ones out there? Or am I stuck with the pair I've got. Cheers, Sean. |

My understanding is that new ones aren't availlable, mostly because they're an Aussie (windup) door only component, and therefore there isn't the same demand for them as the sliding window door equivalent. I'm sure many people would love to access a good quality reproduction, but we shouldn't hold our breath. There may be NOS somewhere - someone like John Smidt from Mini King would soon tell you what the chances are... |

John used to have them them re-anodised some time ago, he may still do this if you have a pair of decent 2nd hand units. |

Some bloke probably has a pair in his garage, sitting next to a box of hens teeth and rocking horse sh*t. haha. Cheers, Matt. |

Unfortunately mine would probably come up worse after anodising, Perhaps I'll just leave them polished for the time being. |

make a offer if u want them Thanks, Dodge. Yeah, that was the reason I was after a repro pair. Keeping the shine to my polished ones will be a pain. Clear coat will just chip off em, and wind up looking crappy. |

I have been keeping an eye out for nos set for my cooper s for the last 7 years...no luck so far so dont hold your breath. I have a very good set on and just got another set back from the polishers which pretty much look like new so will swap them over when ai get the chance. |
