Hey Fellas, first time post noob question  ...

I impulse purchased this kit from Minisport, Does anyone have any experience with these? I know the rod change gearbox cops a bit of flack for leaking oil and have noticed a few posts suggesting these seals will help.

I wanted to see if anyone can pass on some advice on fitting these?

Is that the kit with the little gaiter boot for the gearbox?
If it is the boot is too big - made my car jump out of gear.

can be a bit of a pain as you have to remove the old aluminum ring and fit the new one with the o-ring. you can carefully drill a small hole into the old one and use a wood screw to pull the ring out. normally i only fit the new oil seal and the rubber boot if the engine is still fitted to the car. the oil seal wears much faster than the aluminum ring

Thanks guys! that pretty much confirms what I had read earlier in a moke forum http://www.moke.com.au/in-the-garage/repairs/86-rod-change-seal-replacement the boot might cause some dramas...

just be aware if you intend to use the anti leak kit with the boot, you will need to drive the seal and support ring as far as possible into the gearbox casing to allow room for the rubber boot.

here is the link to the boot, http://www.minisport.com.au/prod593.htm

Although I think I might leave the boot out.
