Can anybody advise me of a competent ,experienced and reliable person to carry out a line bore of the mains on a 1275 Cooper S motor. I would prefer close to Maitland but prepared to go as far as Sydney in the south to Taree in the north.

A few years ago, a member here had an S block's mains redone by Sainty Engineering in Wentworthville.
They have a line borer, but instead they honed it- because the camshaft tunnel hone they use on their drag V8s is just the right size to do the mains on a 1275.

Can't remember what the cost was... except it was cheap at the time.

Also try Parry line boring in Smithfield. He is a one man show that specialises inline boring. Enginer reconditioners from all over the place send their line boring jobs to him.

I used him for my stroker engine.

cheers

always have it honed too, or instead, you get a much better surface finish which will help get any heat out of the bearing and into the block.
