Post subject:  Castrol Classic Oil and ZDDP content- news to me

Hi
I recently picked up some castrol classic xl 20w-50 , cause it is cheap and good for old cars,,, thinking it probably had more zinc content ..... think again ..

uk site http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/252339-oils-and-important-information/ showed some oil spec sheets and

their(uk)castrol xl 20w-50 classic has almost no zinc (8 ppm not over 700 as recommended)

went to australian castrol site and no such product..do we import ours ?

the international castrol lists xl classic but what i can see virtually no zinc?

Of the other oils i looked up

Penrite HPR and Brad Penn both have good zinc and phosphur

i still will use the classic and have no proof of anything other than it seems to be doing a good job for me. I change it regularly and i would imagine way before it loses it additive pack properties BUT its qualities seem to have little to do with zinc or phosphur.
