I have a 63 850 that was rebuilt with a Leyland mini so it now has the three dial cluster and top dash rail. So ignoring the holes in the top and lower steel dash rails how do you deal with the wiring issue :?:

You might be able to source a converter plug that goes from rover / leyland dash plug to older individual wires and plugs. The japs used them in their rovers when they retro-fitted the older style dash.
I used to have one - long gone now though.

Maybe easier to try and get a front wiring harness for a round nose mini as there are a number of differences between the two

I did that the other week, there's surprisingly not too many differences in the wiring. It's really a matter of chopping the plug off for the guage cluster and re-terminating all of the wires. get a wiring diagram and you can see which wire is for which light / guage and away you go.

The one thing I haven't fixed yet is the fuel guage, I assume the senders are different, but haven't investigated that too much.

Senders roundy/Clubby are the same... (unless it's getting the old 850 fast-acting gauge in it)

mine is an early 850 fuel gauge which sounds like the problem..

Is their somewhere I can get a plug that matches the clubby loom so I don't have to chop the plug off? Then I can re-wire it to match the early dash.

There is/was an aftermarket loom for this in the UK, but I had no joy finding it last time I looked.
