Post subject:  A+ idler gear thrust washer available from???

Hello,
Keen to get my hands on a Yellow coded DAM4823 A+ thrust washer (0.134"-0.135").
Any ideas who might have in Aus?
Good second hand okay.
Might save me some phone calls, and not keen to wait for a UK parcel!

Thanks a lot.
Matt

Probably get it quicker from UK that you would via Australia Post!

You might be right Peter. Sometimes I've had stuff in three or four days, but lately, 10+ days.
Crossing fingers I can get one here...

i reckon you`d be sooper-dooper lucky to find one of those here in Aust
but ken might be right, Lindsay always seems to have some cool stuff :-)

oops--> Edit--> If you need a thinner gasket i have some here at 25thou (from memory) we had them made.

Double edit--> sorry to muck anyone around, our gaskets are 20thou or 30thou thick

Thanks Matt - I hadn't thought of that.
What is the story with those gaskets then - current ones thicker than they used to be?
Seems my yellow washer has worn itself down to 0.129", so that's certainly a factor in this case.

original gaskets were approx 35 thou thick,,, & over the years we`ve found the need for thicker thrusts,,, it`s a "wear-n-tear 3-some" actually--> cases, gear & thrusts.

BUT!!! where do you get 135 & 140tho thrusts for the early cases??? No-where
so we had some 25thou gaskets made & that way we can use the thin thrusts that everyone already has :-)

Up-here for thinkin :-)

Good one Matt.
Got wide distribution, or via yourself only?

No worries Matt.
A ten though reduction in clearance would mean I need a thinner washer; and I've got no A+ spares at all.
Good to know you've got these though.
Cheers

Why don't you just machine off the difference you are trying to chase off the outer case, that way you retain your idler washer and can adjust with different gasket thickness should you need to do it again at the next rebuild,

Thanks kiwiinwgtn. That's one way to skin the cat.
In this case if I just get a "yellow" washer at new thickness, problem is solved. Anything else adds complexity to my job, but machining the case & thinner gaskets are also great solutions for the right occasion.

I've got a washer coming from Guess Works for about $11 landed. Just hope it doesn't take forever to get here.
