Give a little more information on the shell and life will get a little easier. Vin/ID plate details for example. A few photographs of things like the engine bay, cabin and rear parcel tray will also help. Mick |

It doesnt have a vin plate. all it has is the number stamped in the radiator cowling. surely by the sequence of the factory numbers it can be worked out what year it was made? I dont need the exact date just the year is enough. thanks |

Is it a square or round nose? Their is also a body number stamped on the fire wall behind the master cylinders, I think that is more important than the radiator shroud number. |

It's a round nose. There are no numbers by the master cylinder. Vin plate has been removed. It's not a cooper. |

Does it have any doors? or windows, boot lid lock, wiper motor? These items can help it be dated.. Where is the hole for the gear stick? between the seats or at the bottom of the fire wall? Does it have subframes? All these things can help date the car if you have any info. |

It is a remote gear change. Wind up windows. No wiper motor. No sub frames. I can't believe no one can hazard an educated guess to its year based on the chassis number? Surely one of the anoraks on here knows. |

It's feasible that its an early 67 or late 66? |

There are a couple of ways You may be able to narrow it down First Thing Check if any electric parts still fitted, such as Horn, Fuse Box, Voltage Regulator Wiper motor etc Then check if the boot lock is still fitted, if none of the above Then check the distance between the holes in body for wiper posts, Check The floor pressing, if Raised section for brake or hydro lines Check if large or small hole in Bulk head between subframe bolts or studs Check B panel see if latch has three hole in vertical line or two holes in line and one offse.t check is fire wall has a captive nut either side of large hole |

I can't believe with this attitude you've got even this far. |
