Hi all,

I have been away from the mini scene for quite a few months due health reasons and i am just starting to get back to it. When I went to the Karcraft webpage tonight I see they have a new page, but for the life of me I cannot work out how to search parts like we used to be able to?

Is this function no longer available or am I missing something?

cheers,

CJ

It helps if you have the part numbers. You can get these (ironically) from the minispares website amongst others.

Ask and they will email out a price list for the mini however.

Cheers Mick,

I do have a parts list from them, but I do find some things to be in odd sections :? So it can be a pain to sift through even with a part number, maybe i should try to get an electronic copy (I have a hardcopy at present) so I could search it that way?

That's the go.

I've emailed you a copy I received only a month or two back.

cheers

Mick

We do have a new website that has been completely redesigned.

We have removed the search function for part numbers.

If people find our pdf catalogue (which is searchable) difficult to use they only have to email us with their inquiry.

i would be interested to know what "things are in odd sections."

:D

I was looking for an accelerator cable bracket (AEG349) tonight which I couldn't find with the rest of the accelerator cables etc or the SU Carb section but did eventually find it in the fuel section? Not quite where I was expecting it but with a paper copy it can be hard to search :(

Thanks Mick for the electronic copy. searching just became a lot easier 8)

cheers,

CJ

PS oh yeah forgot to mention, I do like the new site :D

This is just some feedback on the site - not that you were wanting any.

It looks nice but it is not a site where you can find stuff to buy. In this day and age you shouldn't have to download a PDF to know what to buy. CPL computers used to have a site like that but they have a proper online store now.

I guess that the Karcraft site isn't catering for the everyday Joe.

I see all of the other catalogues but not the Mini or Morris ones.

Not all feedback has to be positive. Obviously the site was designed this way for a reason (I don't need to know what that was).

I agree, whilst I respect Karcraft as a business and have occasionally bought stuff from them since their inception in the 1970s (when they used to mail out those little yellow catalogues every once in a while), I find their current online set up clunky and not particularly user friendly. I don't have time to download and wade through pdf pages when I can go to Minispares or the Minisport sites and find what I want from their home page in an instant.

I think we've been down this road before..
My understanding is that Karcraft are a wholesaler who graciously allows sales to individuals. The business isn't geared to retail sales and hence they don't have a pictorial shopping basket type online store like some of the UK sites. Yet they provide exceptional service and advice.

If you combine the Karcraft catalogue with the old Mini Spares/Mini King catalogue and exploded diagrams with part numbers, you usually can't go wrong.

I've put in an order with them today, I got the parts list in under a minute!, gave them a quick call to sort out payment options and put together a parts order via email. They gave me a call to fix up my mistakes on the order too.
The prices worked out over $50 cheaper than an online mini shop in Australia...
