Not required. They keep the heat in the disc. |

They're meant to keep stones out. I've run mine for years without. They used to get taken off because they reckon the brakes cooled better without them. Probably right I guess, but pads a better these days too. |

My experience is they keep stones IN (well, they did on my 998 ones). I think the real reason was to help keep salt and slush off the rotors, that's probably important in UK but not here. |

Yeah, My set would stay off as they have if I wasn't on the original fit bandwagon... Lucky discs are cheap! ![]() |
