This item sold on ebay today for $2500  It's is essentially what JAM was when I bought him (same year even). I paid $500 for JAM. :?

I think you might have been lucky getting it for $500. Considering the vehicle is in a fairly sat state, I reckon $2000 is a better price. But it is ebay - if you are shopping ebay, you are paying too much...lol.

I think thousands for disc brakes is ludicrous but thats the going rate...each to their own...

What, What's that you say?
And it was how long ago? 3 years I believe, before the BMW boosted the value of most classic minis.
Or are you just trying to remind us again of the bargain you got so long ago? :D
Try and do it again JAM, these days $500 will be lucky to get you a shell in good nick.

Hey, I know all about the price of them from years gone by.
4 years ago, I sold a 78 clubby, with no rust or panel damage, with a running engine
(started first go every time) and complete interior for the massive sum of a whole
$500. I wish I still had that. At least I still know where to find the car when I want it.

It's not a ner ner post at all Duc. I was trying to make a point about ebay.

Harley is correct in saying I bought JAM 3 years ago, so I guess prices do fluctuate in that amount of time.....but I got JAM from the Trading Post - it wasn't a 'mates rates' buy.

I don't think that 3 years could mean $2000 difference for a very similar car.

Trading post is where I first got the car for about the same money, about a year before we got rid of it again. It was a 2 for 1 deal. Pity the other one was a heap of crap.

Looked like a good little original one owner car to me.
I guess we all value things differently.
Im presuming it would be able to get registered easy and for a first car for someone would be a treat for $2500.
Im sure you got a bargain Anton. Twice  .
Saying all this i have little idea what a clubby is worth and i dont know what
JAM was like when you got it (looking sweet now though).
Oh and i got my Cooper S for free so nah nah nah nah nah nah ! back at you Anton.

fair call about a nice registered first car.

Looking closely at the pics, the paint is shot and needs respraying. Red oxidises very easily. Plus it has rust holes under the rear 1/4 windows - like most clubbies have now or have had.

I'll shut up now....like I said, this post was aimed at ebay, not my big head.

BTW, makka bought a one owner Clubby exactly the same as that one, same year and colour too, from a granny for about $1000 - $1500. That was recent.

Was just having an opinion and a joke, i hope you took it the right way.
Its weird isnt it that in one way mini owners want the value of there cars raised but
want to get them cheap to do up? :?
Anyway if you looked into it and with your added info i does sound a bit over priced if it needs work.
It looked ok with the info i had.

You are right though....I want my Mini's to be worth BIG BUX but only when I sell, not when I buy  :P

Your car is worth whatever people are willing to fork out for it. Ebay auctions always end up going high because people are silly and bid waaaayyy to early.
