Post subject: | Boot Lid fit |
I gotta go home for the day, but first i thought i'd throw this out there and see what people think. My boot lid seems to fit poorly. The top two corners aretouching the body while the middle of the boot where the handle is, is sticking out about 5 mm. Is this normal? ![]() What can be done to fix this? Matt |

Lots of Minis are like that, mine included.. I thought it was a feature to give better boot sealing- ![]() |

Bending should help. My passenger door once sat out about 15mm at the bottom when closed, a bit of force in the right way and it was back to.....um, bout 5mm. Not perfect, but better. |

paint has a bit of give in it. I would imagine that the amount of bending required to fix your boot lid would have no effect on your paint. Just take it easy though!! |

My 2 pac wasn't affected. If you already have cracks in it be careful though. |

Thanks, No cracks yet, But a bit of minor rust at the bottom. I'll get it done right soon enough, I just want to get it back on the road for now, (it was and will be again, my daily driver) and I'll get these little jobs done when I get time. Like replacing the battery box (patched by PO with pot rivets ![]() ![]() Oh well i'll be driving it again soon. Matt |
