Post subject: | Leaking oil pressure switch? |
Today my oil pressure light came on whilst sitting at the traffic lights and didn't go off again. I haven't driven the mini in about a year, so the oil is probably 2 years old but with very little use. I'm going to do an oil change this week, but noticed that the oil pressure switch had little bubbles escaping above the metal terminal. Would this be enough of a pressure loss to trigger the switch? I don't have an oil pressure gauge, so I don't know if the pressure is actually low or if the leaky switch is the culprit. Has anyone ever had a switch leak enough to have the light come on? |

Pressure switch diaphragm is knackered- if there is pressure both sides of it, it doesn't work. New ones are pretty cheap... |
