Numbers I have off the VIN plate are:

YMA2S2
4813
9YA Ta H 5765

Am I right in thinking it's a Morris Mini Deluxe? How do I get the year and any other pertinent information?

Any help with decoding these would be appreciated :-)

Yes Mini deluxe

The date on the wiper motor (assuming it hasn't been changed) usually gives a rough estimate of date of build.

Some can give a rough date based on the number of the car (im not that clever though :) ) Im thinking it is a round a 65model

The 9Y part is the original Engine number

All the letters and numbers stand for something. I don't know what it all is. except 9 means a 1lt motor (998cc)

Im past being a teenager, so I don't know everything :D

I know enough to help someone, but I don't like stating things I say as fact because sometimes people come along and correct me, and then I feel stupid  ( I don't own any roundies so they are a little foreign to me)

no worries bubba, have watched your opinions and thoughts at times
always believed you must have of been of a young age when mini's were built in Australia, and what you say must be correct you must be with all due respect be round about 60-70 years of age

Your car is a very early build within the Deluxe production run making it built most likely in April 1965

well sorry bubba ,noticed at times you take on some respected people, sorry I now don't know if to believe everything you comment on, considering you are only 26 years of age, If I was 26 years of age commenting on topics that were manufactured in the the sixties and seventies I don't think I would comment at all. Maybe just listen. you were not born, remember better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
