have you ever had one of those days where you are completely stuck on what should be the simplest of tasks??
I have just finished stripping and painting my mini and am in the process of putting it back together. I have on last thing to do - put the front indicator lense's back on.

I purchased new black rubber seal globe holder thingo's from minispares. I have installed these, screwed the globe holder into place, put the globe in. But i can not for the life of me get the lense and chrome ring back into place.

I just can not see how it can possibly slot into the groove its supposed to slot into. There just isnt enough flexibility in the rubber. Am i missing something? Incorrect part? Or is it just me?? :P

The lens goes on the inside, then you push the ring into the outer groove on an angle at first, and work the rubber over it as you hold it in. A bit like fitting a bike tyre. Use a blunt screwdriver or similar.
A bit of rubber grease or washing up detergent helps if you need it.

With the original rubbers, they were just fine. Now, the rubber is nothing like the original spec.. it's just one example of the current poor quality parts coming in.
