Stop for a minute and think about your project mini.....

Okay. Stupid me.... you were already thinking about that project, weren't you :wink: Well, this time, think about WHERE it is. Is it sitting in your garage?? Maybe in the driveway?? Is it really SAFE where it is???

I dont mean safe as in LOCKED. I mean safe more like: protected from the elements.

Is there a wood heap next to it? An LPG bottle? Chemicals? Is your shed or garage wood lined?

Home and Contents insurance might cover the cost of lost or damaged items, but it cant replace the hours/days/years of hard labour you have put into your prized posessions.

Consider the next guy for a minute. He is a motorbike lover, a mini lover, and a bit of a home handyman and home mechanic, so you can imagine the things he has lying around. Here are a few of his things....

He has a mini project (vtec powered cabrio, all the bits ready to go), mig welder, compressor, and behind him is a collection of sports motorbikes, spare wheels and tyres, etc.... and you can see his work area is kept fairly clean...

Now look what an hour can do to it.

Chris Z was at me to get JAM insured as it is right now, for this very reason.

I have to say though.....maybe the dude was insured and he did a 'job' on his stuff. :?

my parents are always at me to make sure i leave the handbrake off. they do the same with their Riley. apparently a handbrake can actually start a fire through friction or some such. also, if there's a housefire while you're out, it enables anyone that comes along (fire department perhaps) to just roll the car out of the way.

I ALWAYS keep an extinguisher next to the Moke.
And not one of those toy ones you mount in the car for emergencies :wink:

There's no fuel in the tank & no battery ATM, but you just never know...

Yes I was. The article makes me out to be a complete pansy. I think it was reasonable to drop a tank shooting an 5 foot jet of lit petrol under pressure! Anyway the whole thing burnt down and took my beloved clubby and my Mum's Alfa Romeo with it (no she wasn't happy, I am now out of the will).

Uhh.... Nah man. Put the handbrake on. Otherwise theives will just roll your car away! LOL! Funniest thing I have EVER heard. :wink:

what, a thief can break in to a house or car, but they can't take a handbrake off? yeah, right! :roll:
