I know this has been discussed before ....., but what would be the best treatment for a bodyshell after having all the paint removed ,by blasting or paint stripper etc. to stop it rusting ,until body is repaired and painted

I believe that'd be etch primer.

If you're getting it blasted have a chat to the mob and they might be able to do it for you soon after blasting too.

if you are only wanting to spray something over it to stop it rusting, I found the best cheapest thing is the $2 pressure packs that are very often on special at a certain super auto place. I don't waste money on the special primers until all the body work is repaired and you are ready to paint the entire body. the $2 paint is easy to re-apply after you have worked on a section at a time, then easy to wipe off with thinners on a rag.

The guy who sand blasted my mini painted it with an etch primer which was pretty robust.

Be careful with etch primer. One product I used recently carried a warning:

"This product must be overcoated with Primer Surfacer or Primer Filler as soon as possible after it is dry or product failure may occur"

(Septone - of SuperCheat fame)

And be careful of priming it as most primers will suck up moisture like a sponge. Being in toowoomba and seeing the state of the bogan limos driving around town with rust streaks weeping out from under primed spots on every panel is amazing!

DP 40 is a great choice. But also should consider PPG 2K Epoxy Urethane...fantastic for restos.

Does DP40 absorb moisture ?? what type of paint can use over it

Depends how long your going to leave it and where... Nearly any sort of primer will rust, if in doors and not for a great deal of time it'll do but if its outside it basically needs a undercoat or first coat...
Believe me or not, I have been though it and its cheaper to get it done than too store it and have too do it all again
