Just about to put on my head on to finish my 1275 engine rebuild. Engine has 11.34:1 compression, bit high for my liking for road use.
Was going to use PAYEN BK450 Head Gasket but will compress to .035.
Is there a thicker head gasket or shim, I can use to lower the compression.
From my calculator if I raise the height another,
.040 compression will be 9.67:1
.030 compression will be 9.92:1
.020 compression will be 10.17:1
Assistance would be good

PM sent, I had replied to your email but it bounced back.
2x BK450 gaskets worked fine for me until I got around to opening the chambers out a bit more.

Try a Cometic-

[edit 2] Looks like thickest one sold is .040".

As you still have the head out why don't you grind the chambers out a bit larger to increase the volume. Make sure you measure them individually to get them equal. I am not very keen on having two head gaskets especially on that High a compression. It will only need to run a bit lean and blow between 2 and 3 where you have two exhaust valves side by side. Gets pretty hot in that spot.
