Did the morris 1100S come out with a 1098. Here's the engine number 10YTAH59368. This is a genuine 1100S car. |

Check the body numbers, a 1100s manual should be YMGS2 & an auto YMGS5 if not it is not a S. I will have one for sale soon if anyone is interested complete with a good 1275. |

I am just reading a Test that was published in Modern Motor - November 1967. "The big engined 1100 -- called 1100S -- uses the robust, potential-packed 1275 cc. "S" motor, detuned from Cooper form (75 bhp at 5,800) to produce 63 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 70 lb. ft. of torque at 2,500rpm." |

Body number should begin with YMGS2 and engine number starts with 12YDTaH for a Manual and 12YDAH for an Auto ,have a look at Morris 1100 website below http://www.elevenhundred.com/enginenum.php |

http://www.elevenhundred.com/enginenum.php Early 1100S automatic was a 12H/119/H block. I have one here I've just converted to manual. |

Now seen it with my own eyes. Definitely not an 1100S the owner got it confused with his other 1100S COUPE he imported from the UK. Couldn't get a good look at it it was buried under the rest of his collectable things. PS Interesting fellow, ex-HWP, worked Newcastle, Yass and Goulburn has a picture of him driving a Clubman panal van with the Police sign on the roof. Also has a yellow Clubby S (not a GT)in his shed, which was used by him on highway duties as a bit of a covert car. When it came to the end of its service, old mate bought it from the police auction and has had it ever since. It's a shame he didn't look after it. Lots of bits missing and it hasn't weathered well. |
