Any tricks to removing the wiper mechanism, I can’t seem to wiggle the spindles through the scuttle panel |

stand on your left foot with your right leg over the passenger side mudguard, hold your tongue up as close to your nose as you can, close your right eye and put a screwdriver in your ear.... then lift the mechanism up and rotate towards the back of the car |

Its important not to bend the aluminium tube that connects the wiper wheel boxes. It is fairly soft and if you bend them the extra friction of the rack against the kink can be enough to slow or even stop the whole mechanism. Tim |

one time I did it I actually disassembled the wheel boxes in situ and pulled the cable and aluminium tubes out.... but then next time I did one, it practically fell out it really is a c*nt of a job |

If The wipers park on the left hand side, turn the spacers on the wheel boxes around 180 degrees before removing, the spacers under the scuttle panel |

Remember to loosen the nut where the motor attaches to the rack. Order should be: - Unplug wires - Loosen top nut (this will allow you to 'lift' the motor without bending the rack housing) - Remove the nuts/studs from inside the car at the back of the dash shelf - Lift the motor, turn 180 degrees to access the back, and remove the circlip holding the main gear on. This main gear holds the end of the rack, so must be removed to remove the rack. This is for the round body ones. |
