Post subject: | Wheel Alignment... again |
Don't worry I am not asking how to do it, I am telling you what I went through today to get it right! Ever since I changed my wheels Lillee has been driving... err... funny. Wasn't sure what it was but was quite sure the toeing had changed and something was not right. Anyway I spent all day today, must have jacked her up at least a dozen times to roll her forwards etc, using string, bricks, electrical tape (to mark the ground) and a tape measures to get her spot on... I am proud to say she is correct within 0.5mm (according to my calculations anyway ![]() Now she's toed out perfectly to 1/16th as per the book, the steering is aligned and the handling has improved at least 2 fold... BUT...Next time, I'm friggin taking her to Bob Jane or someone else to get it electronically done while I have a cup of tea!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() The worste part of it all is that in the next 2 weeks I have to change at least the rear tyres, if not all 4 which means all my work could go to waste! ![]() ![]() |

Changing the tyres or wheels will not affect the alignment. ![]() BTW I hope you gave the front toe-out, not toe-in... ![]() |

John Leffler - St George Steering. Go see him, he is the ONLY person to take your mini to when it comes to steering and suspension. Well done for having a go, but if you decide to get it done, don't take it to bob jane. John does half days on saturday so he will sort you out if need be. Just make sure you don't have to drive if you go there at lunch or at closing time ![]() Cheers Aaron |

Well i lied, it didn't all go to waste, while I had her up on stands I did a complete greasing up and bled all 4 brakes. Now the pedal doesn't feel as spongy as before but I can't help thinking that there is still air in the system... I think these drums are the best they can possibly ever be actually... ![]() |
