I am going through some photos of the 2000 Melbourne Auto Salon.... and just found a picture of the only mini that was at the show. It was a light green clubby with silver Group 5 arches, silver engine, yellow spark leads, loads of stereo work, bonnet mounted gauges..... this thing was practically faultless....

Number plates were black with white lettering - "XTREM-1"

I was speaking to the owner for most of the weekend. Any body know if this mini is still alive??

Any ideas??

Yeh this guy used to come to club events now and again.

Haven't seen him at all for several years though.

Had heard that he joined the army or something and that the car had been in a smash.

I rang and spoke to his mother as we wanted him to bring it to a MINISHOW. But as I say, it hasn't been sited for several years now.

If it IS smashed, its a great loss. I spent many hours looking over that car at Autosalon... the quality of work was amazing and the guy was a champ.

Maybe one day he will do it all again.

For detailed photos about gas struts for your bonnet, check out this thread I just knocked up...
