Putting wheels of nearly any width to 'fill out' the sportspacks (10x7, 12x6, 13x6 or 13x7) will require trimming of the guard. I have to do this job on the weekend - my 13x7s won't turn more than 5 degrees with the guards at full size. If money is a bit of a restriction to you, look for the 12x6 wide offset wheels that will allow you to retain the tyres on the car at the moment. They'll ride well. 13x7s are heavy wheels, so its advisable to put uprated shockers in, and make sure your suspension parts are all in perfect order too, otherwise it'll quickly chew out the rubbers and ball joints. |

Difference isn't much at all. The most amount of diameter change between a 12 and a 13" wheel will be 5mm. |

There was a write up in the uk mini magazine regarding getting the best out of a mini in terms of handling/ suspension . The columnist/ tech guy believed 13s were over kill and reduced the characteristics and performance of a mini in handling . Have a look at your newsagents, bought it maybe 2 weeks ago. |

It's that old argument again.. Really the difference in handling will be minimal especially in a road car. I've felt the difference and aside from steering weight you wouldn't really know what you were running on at road speed... Cheap wheels are heavy, but a set of force racing wheels or the like probably won't be.. Do we really buy wheels for anything other then looks on a roady? I don't |
