I was heading out in the car last night, and my five year old lad asked which car I was taking - the family car or my mini. My wife announced that she thought I would take the family car - for the sake of comfort. My boy then asked why I wouldn't take the mini for "bumpfort" instead.

Where do kids get this stuff from!?

Matt

My 3 year old used to tell everyone who would listen that "dads Mini Car is broken"... that was when it was in the garage waiting for some love

now when ever i come home he wants to know if i've been at "Poppy's" house working on the car... and if so... if he can see the photos. God help me on the days i forget to take a photo of what we did.

I'm pretty sure he's already counting down the days till he turns 18 and can get his own "Mini Car"

Nice story. My son also thinks that any old car or car with chrome bumpers is a mini. I've grown tired of telling him, so I'm going to wait until he outgrows it.

Ha! My boy uses the same phrase "Mini car". For some reason the red daily driver is "mini car", and the project is 'the green mini". Cracks me up how they categorise stuff.

For a while everything with chrome or any kind of shape was a mini, now he's 3 he recognises minis, so there's minis, plus anything older is a hotrod or sometimes a vintage car (I guess we go to a few shows!).

Kids might lump things together, but damn they are observant. When our lil' guy was not even three we were in a car park and he said "that's like Sean's car" (his cousin). Damned if it wasn't a same shape and colour Focus that they have. But then came "not theirs though, no towbar". That's my boy! :D

My 3 year old sat in the back the other day and we were at the lights. She points to the gearstick and says "Dad use that to go down, go faster dad"

Rev head!

My 10 year old insists on taking the Mini every time we go anywhere so he can start it up and back it up the driveway for me.

Both my girls seemed to pick up by that there are cars and there are minis, so young they couldn't pronounce either correctly but they seemed to know the difference.

My 28 keeps asking when he can take the mini for a drive and he always gets the same answer, what was the name of the EAGLES first concet tour after they reformed. That is when you get a drive. :-) :-) :-)
