I'm cutting my guards to suit 13x7 wheels and sportspacks, the guards are trimmed right back to the arches and the wheels still hit before they reach full lock.

Do most people with the big wheels put stoppers in somewhere to limit the steering angle?

there were some you would fit onto the rack shaft to butt between the knuckle lock-ring & the housing on full lock years ago,,, havn`t seen em for a while tho.

Where do your wheels touch?
I have a standard Aussie rack and my 13x7s don't touch

When turning, they rub about 3 inches above the bumper lip.
Not a little bit either - the guard contacts with about 15mm of tyre tread to go.

Standard Aussie rack has less lock than the UK and aftermarket racks.

When you trimmed the guards, I assumed it was the front?
I trimmed my guards to line up with the body kit flares.
I have a magazine article with diagrams on how to trim for 13" wheels which I will post up if I get a chance tomorrow.

Mine line up with the inside of the flares too.
I might be able to shift the flares forward a bit but not much - they kind of lines themselves up between the bumper, side lip and the indicator on the guard.

I'll probably trim a little more steel out, and carefully trim the fibreglass inside the flare, and reinforce where I can.

I'll put a rack limiter in there too - after all - how often do you need to turn that much anyway?

it all depends on how low you have the car set

i have cut a good inch or two through the guard and the A panel and i still cant get anywhere near full lock , it also depends on the arches themselves mine are very old ( like 2002) and they were very hard to fit and match to the guard ... i need to go back and cut again

wheel alignment plays a big part to , lots of camber and caster makes it worse

Yep, that all sounds like mine.

Been flicking through some UK build threads and to get full lock on a 13x7 means a big amount of guard has to go - more than I can manage with the arches I have.
