Hello all, am new to this site, first post. I am interested in purchasing a mini pick up. If there are any owners out there I'd love to hear from you for a chat about them, what to look out for ect. Also interested in knowing if anyone has an idea as to how many of them there would be in Oz at a rough guess. Am looking at importing one from the UK in the near future. Regards Gav. There was one at Minis on the Murray in April which came from interstate somewhere and another up there as well from what I'm told. The owner of one of the Mini businesses in Melb. has one he bought back from UK. Then there is the one in SA that featured in the Mini Experience mag. Other than that not many around. Very, very, good luck finding one. |

There was one brought in many years back by Mini Kingdom and featured in Mini Magic Vol ? As said a few have been brought in privately since. Pickups never were built here- we made heaps of vans though and some people have managed to carve them into a `pickup'. ![]() Giveaway is the back end- the van is sloped and pickup vertical. And it's tricky to get the back of the roof looking right. I've seen only 1 genuine pickup in the last 5 years- it belongs to an ausmini member, is being restored but it's not for sale. ![]() Pretty sure the Kiwis got them though- it might be cheaper to find one over there. ![]() |

Try a couple of NZ Sites..they do pop up every once in a while http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... -0313-.htm |

Oo, no, don't try Trade Me. They're all driven by Kiwis and their sweaty wee hands have been all over them. They're tainted and you'd always get the creeps driving a Mini you imported from NZ. nooo, no, bad idea. Let those kiwis keep all those Minis. After all, those poor Kiwis can't import any more minis as they don't meet frontal impact requirements so those that are left are all they have ![]() |

that one was a cut down van... I've thought about importing just the tail off a rusted one and building one up out of a van |

talking with a mate who used to have a real one (which is apparently flaoting around Wagga still), he's about 6', I'm about 6' 4", he reckons they're a bastard if you're tall cos you can't move the seat back far enough - building one out a van would be the go for us tallies cos we can make a 'supercab' |
