Hi,

looking to bid on an Evilbay motor with an engine number 83095210 ? I can't find anything on this one.....

Sounds like a Police issued engine number after the original number was lost (block machined loosing original number) or deliberately removed (eg after being stolen).

eg starting with 83 it would have been issued in 1983 if I remember right... there was a thread on this somewhere on Ausmini explaining them...

From the pictures it looks like probably an 850 motor (based on gear stick connection on gearbox and engine breather pipe venting about it )

(* For clarity - it is NOT indicating an engine USED by the police )

Does not sound line a Police issued number.
They use the format (is one of my old motors) N661771P when N = the state, 66 = the year, 1771 = number issued that year, and P on the end = Fuzz issued. State can be V Q S W etc depending where issued.
