Hi guys ive got a 76 leyland mini chassis number is 022D2S1M09 and on the compliance plate its says its a Leyland mini s but has got factory rear dimister, panel where front fog lights/spot lights bolt on aerial on the roof and ss switch panel which is all original.. and the original color is maroon what would it be??

the compliance plate can't tell you anything other than it's a Mini S, but the LS and SS models wore the same plate, so the other identifiers you've picked out are the only details you have to go on. I'm not up with square nosed minis, but I thought all of the 998 LS' were either blue or gold, so yours must be an SS ?

022 = Leyland Mini S (or LS or SS)
D = Nothing important!
2S = 2 Door Saloon
1 = Trim Quality level 1 (Leyland Mini S will be a 1 or 2. )
M = 4 Speed Floor shift Manual
09 = 998 Engine.
