I know a lot of people put honda vtec and swift gti motors in mini's but I'm a great believer in keeping original brand parts. Here's a guy who knows how to get more power out of a rover powered mini.

Funny he says he didnt have to cut the bulk head to fit it in , it must be a huge squeeze in there.

Jeez that's a blast from the past. That website is 13 years old.

There was another one, Spag's Doris. He took a fairly low tech approach.

Matt Reid fitted a Leyland P76 4.4L V8 onto an austin gearbox and installed that into his speedway mini (he also turboed it).

Here's that yellow mini http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RlktUKNJq0
Heres a north south Rover 3.5L v8 in a mini, mid mounted RWD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iK4dy74ibY
I use to have a massive list of links for V8 minis but a computer crash lost it all, a few different worded searches on youtube come up with a good number and varaities.
