So i put a HS6 on my motor recently, im having an annoying time with it to be honest, ive tuned it and got a nice rich needle in it etc... but i having trouble with maybe the shaft? let me explain

start engine: idle fine
rev engine: make smiley face
Stop revving engine in an attempt to idle: crappy very high idle, i have to twist the shaft to make him settle

idle screw is fine (when the return/stop gets to it) but it wont automatically go all the way back to that spot...

thoughts?

Sounds like the butterfly plate is not centred.
Take carb off, undo idle stop screw to clear stop, loosen both butterfly screws 1/4 turn.
Hold throttle closed and do the 2 screws back up. Hold up to light, should be none? visible. Stake the screws gently again if needed.
Refit carb, adjust idle stop screw.

I know I'm stating the obvious but....

Have you got a strong enough spring on it to pull the butterfly fully closed once you release the throttle?

Do you have a little bit of free play in the cable. If not it can hold it open a bit.
