Hi all, I will be replacing the headlining in my Jigsaw soon (well, as soon as I stop procrastinating about getting the sewing machine out) and I am wondering what glue I should use for the edges? I've searched and read everyone's comments about what a bitch or a cinch the job is, but nothing about which glue I need ![]() |

You want to use a good contact adhesive - something like kwik-grip (I use the one that comes in a tuna-can size thing). I used that and the job was straight forward - put a smear of glue on each surface, wait 30 seconds, stick and clamp. Would hold itself after a minute or two but I left it for a few hours at a time. |

Just don't buy the cheap stuff! Pay a few extra dollars and get a good known brand like selleys or one an upholsterer would use. Cheap glues let go easily both wet, and also a few months after install. Keep a rag soaked in turps handy as you do the job. You need it to wipe away excess glue off the material, can and yourself. |

You can get the Selleys Kwik-Grip in gel form, it's made for vertical surfaces and doesn't drip (as much). ![]() |

As above, Steer clear of the spray can stuff! I used that on mine, and had to redo the whole thing. Absolute rubbish. Get a brand name. Thin coats. Let it almosy dry then join. Cheers Alex. |
