I have one in my track mini that you are welcome to have a look at, but it's obviously not road registered.

There is plenty of info on the pros/cons in the Engine Conversions section of this forum.

Wow nice mini. I noticed your name. Any links or anything to the build of this AWD Moke? It's one of my dads life-long plans to build one. He always wanted to take the running gear of a Suzuki Sierra-engine, drivetrain, suspension components, the lot. He still wants to but he needs encouragement...

Doesn't look that big in real life, especially with him in it!

As for my moke, there are some details in the Conversions Register:

Unfortunately I lost the build log on the site that was hosting it.
Good news is that I got the moke back two weeks ago, so time to do some more work on it.

I can't take credit for building it.
It's developed over the years in the hands of a couple of more experienced racers than me.

Why are they so popular though? All you have to go through is Wales and a bit of Scotland. If anything it should be more popular over here.

Because over there you can bolt an engine to a bath tub and drive it on the road (they have a good engineering/road registering system).
Here that sort of thing is a bit of a hard area, mostly it would be classified as a Suzuki Sierra with a body swap, theirs strict laws and rules which make it very difficult and expensive to do these mods.
